Do you feel like you and your partner are always having the same fight repeatedly? Do you leave arguments feeling misunderstood or unheard? Are you struggling to find your new family structure after divorce, separation, or remarriage? Trying to build a better relationship with your children? You are not alone (especially after the pandemic and quarantine). If your goal is to feel closer to or more understood by your loved ones and change your day-to-day interactions, we can do it together.
My connection to therapy began long before my actual training as I have always been deeply involved with listening to the stories of others with compassion and curiosity. I am here to exact change for the betterment of all clients who are seeking individual, couples or family therapy. I provide in-person or video therapy using a narrative, emotionally focused lens combined with Internal Family Systems to cultivate growth within the therapy room.
I work with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families with a warm, authentic, and collaborative approach, aiming to create a safe and expansive space while honoring you as the expert of your own life. As a systemic therapist, I am curious about how we influence and are shaped by the many systems of which we are a part (relationships, family, faith/spiritual groups, gender, sexuality, culture, race/ethnicity, language). I am LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming and am open to working with clients of all ages, relationships of all configurations, and families of all varieties.
Education & Training
I have a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. I have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy Counseling. I have a certification in sex therapy and am finishing my certificate in play therapy. I have extensive training in Hypnotherapy and Reiki energy healing. I have been practicing therapeutic methods since 2018.
I look forward to meeting with you where you are and to help you address the issues and life stressors that are getting in your way. As someone who leads with curiosity, while attuning myself to the energies of those around me, I will provide a safe space for compassionate listening and co-collaboration of meaning.
Children / Adolescents
I have a passion for working with children and adolescents who struggle with behavioral issues, family conflict, life changes, self-esteem and anxiety. My ultimate goal is to help children/adolescents understand that it is okay to not be okay and know that it is okay to seek help. Children and teens need to know that their feelings are valid and their struggles are important to others. I co-partner with children, teens and parents to help with successful communication skills and better understanding of feelings. Together we will create a positive space and experience where children and teens can work on regulation skills, improving negative self-talk, as well as anxiety and depression. I am well equipped to address a wide array of issues and I have experience providing tools for parents to set their child up for success.
Parent and family training is at the core of my work as you are with your child the most, it is vital that you feel skilled to support your child at home, school and outside of the treatment room. Parents need to know they have the skills and patience to work with their children to resolve ongoing behavioral issues.
Couples & Family Therapy
Let’s face it, time changes us all – but it doesn’t need to make us grow apart. One of the biggest myths is that couples counseling is for failing relationships. Seeking therapy for a relationship brings the opportunity to strengthen your bond beyond what you thought was possible. By exploring each other’s minds, emotions, experiences, and expectations; your vulnerability will bring healing and intimacy to a whole new level. My role as a therapist in couples counseling is to provide unbiased support to help the relationship grow through better communication and deeper understanding.
Family relationships are an important factor in psychological health. Family therapy focuses on enhancing communication between members, recognizing mixed messages that often occur within the family, and strengthening family resilience during difficult times. I want to arm you with the tools to tackle tough issues as they arise with those you love and those who love you. My goals is to help you find clarity and strength while moving forward with one another.
